Oldest Chris Craft

Prior to the knowlegde of the SILVER STREAK

the Oldest Chris Craft was :

Miss Belle Isle of  The Mariners' Museum

Miss Belle Isle (1925) is one of the earliest Chris-Craft boats in existence.
Winner of a nationwide contest conducted by Chris-Craft Industries, Inc.,
in 1969 to determine the "Oldest Living Chris-Craft,"
she was completely refurbished in Algonac, Michigan,
and maintained in her present condition.
The double cockpit, ten-passenger runabout was
first owned by Fred Schiappacasse of Detroit, Michigan.

Built 1910-1920

The exact year that the SILVER STREAK
was built is unknown !

Chris Craft factory records-including engineering drawings, memos,
photographs and hull cards were donated to The Mariners' Museum
POST 1925 ONLY
NO RECORDS EXIST PRIOR TO 1925

We can only assume the Silver Streak was built
prior to being exported from America in 1921-1922 and
after C.C. Smith started building hydroplanes in 1910-1911 !
